The UsiXML documentation defines the semantics of the UsiXML language which is attached to its syntax. This documentation describes all tags of all models which are potentially involved in a user interface description.

Last UsiXML version
The last version available of the UsiXML language is 1.8.0, dated February 14th, 2007. This version brings the following improvements:
  • Support for user interfaces for workflows
  • New task types (see the taskType attribute in the task model)
  • Full support for layout constraints and types (e.g., flowLayout, gridLayout, boxLayout)
  • Support for 3D user interfaces
  • Support for haptic interaction as a new modality
  • Reinforced support for vocal interaction and its combination with graphical interaction

Previous version
The previous version available of the UsiXML language is: 1.6.4, dated March 1st, 2006. This version brings the following improvements:
  • Consolidation of the UsiXML V1.6.3 tags for better usage
  • Improved definition and examplification of the UsiXML tags
  • Division of the textComponent into textInput and textOutput for graphical user interfaces
  • Improved and expanded definition of a vocal user interface description
  • Incorporation of the concepts of plasticity domains and zones for context-aware adaptation, in collaboration with Ga?lle Calvary and Jo?lle Coutaz, IIHM Team.
