MethodiXML
Every day, more software organizations need to address customers? requests for UIs for multiple devices. Therefore, the organization of UsiXML models and tools into a method becomes more critical to guarantee the life cycle's completeness and coherence. In order to provide an approach that helps professionals during the user interaction design life cycle, we propose a flexible method to bring a definitive contribution to facilitate the application of HCI practices in real world organizations. The method provides a set of activities for model transformations, which can be selected by software organizations, depending on their goals for a specific project. Besides that, the method can be integrated with a pre-existent and deployed development process.
The method is supported by an application in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Environment. The basic idea of this application is to provide all model transformations as services that could be reused by different tools and applications.
In a nutshell, software organizations aiming at addressing the request of customers to develop applications for various devices can benefit from selecting a user interaction design method that is flexible enough to address the customers? needs and the project?s characteristics and that is also easily integrated with the existing organizational process. Adding to that, software organizations using a service-oriented application can support the execution of a common method by professionals working distributed.
